The vlogging gear space is rapidly becoming a competitive one since JOBY started making gear for the solo content creator. RØDE followed up with its Vlogging Kit, and now, Litra has come out with the LitraTorch 2.0 Smartphone Bundle that combines the LitraTorch 2.0 LED, an amber diffuser, a white diffuser, a 4-in-1 tripod, phone mount, and micro USB cable for $109. (It's on sale right now for $83 from Litra directly.)

The LitraTorch 2.0 is a second-gen LED that features 16 individual LEDs with 90+CRI at 5700 daylight temperature. The tiny light packs a punch with 800 lumens of continuous light that can be mounted on top of a smartphone, mirrorless, or DSLR camera.

The LED has a 70º beam angle with three different selectable light levels where level 3 provides the 800 lumens of light. The source is flicker-free and doesn't have a center hot spot which is ideal for close contact with talent.

The light runs off an internal lithium-ion battery that's rechargeable through a micro-USB port. You can expect about four hours of runtime at level 1, 70 minutes at level 2, and 35 minutes at level 3. The light can also run off of external power for extended periods. Additionally, the LED is waterproof up to 60ft (20m) and has two 1/4"-20 standard camera mounts and an embedded magnet, which can come in handy for different setups.

The 4-in-1 tripod can be used with or without the phone mount and doubles as a selfie stick for when you're on the go. The selfie stick will extend from 5.9in (15cm) to 10.6in (27cm).

Along with the LitraTorch 2.0, the bundle comes with two diffusers (one white, one amber) which is a good way to soften the light when needed. For a price of around $109, the bundle is pretty all inclusive and ideal for a beginner. The one thing it is missing is an upgrade in audio. That's where something like the RØDE Vlogging Kit comes in, where the Universal Kit adds a VideoMicro, Dead Cat, and a ton of other accessories for around $150.

For my money, though, I prefer the additional pair of arms that come with JOBY’s GorillaPod Mobile Vlogging Kit. It’s a little more at around $200, but those extended arms for accessory mounting points can double as attachment arms to mount your camera JOBY style.

The LitraTorch 2.0 LED is also available separately for $90, so for a few dollars more it's well worth the cost.
