Hey, BIPOC Non-WGA Writers—The 2022 "Mentorship Matters" Submissions Open Soon
86% of TV writers are white. The problem is systemic.

Mentorship Matters is an intensive year-long mentorship program with a simple goal—to help place emerging writers of color inside television writers' rooms and change the landscape of who gets to tell stories in our industry.
Whether we like it or not, success in this business has always had to do with who you know. That’s how the “old boy’s club” worked—and why it stubbornly survives to this day. And that is why the majority of white-led writers' rooms still have no writers of color.
Mentorship Matters is changing that from the inside, by trying to staff more writers of color and making sure they have mentors who help them advance.
Applications for 2022-2023 will open on June 20 through June 26.
