'Green Book' Takes Home 3 Oscars, Including Best Picture

Find the full list of 2019 Academy Awards winners right here.

The 91st Academy Awards have ended, wrapping on one of the most unconventional and controversial shows in recent memory. Not only did the Oscars go one without a host, but the Academy drew ire from many different groups for their lack of female representation among nominees. Interestingly enough, however, the films themselves, especially those nominated for Best Picture, told stories about diverse individuals, including women, people of color, and those in the LGBTQ community.

Peter Farrelly's biopic Green Book took home the big prize of Best Picture, as well as awards for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Mahershala Ali) and Best Original Screenplay. Alfonso Cuarón had a big night as well, winning Best Director and Best Cinematography for his work in Roma, which also won Best Foreign Language Film.

Bohemian Rhapsody received a whopping four Oscars tonight, more than another nominee, and Black Panther took home a total of three.

Green Book was a better film that Black Panther. Those guys became friends in real life and remained friends until they died not long ago. Black Panther had more white guilt behind it than Green Book did.
