What Movies Did Keanu Reeves Recommend Carrie-Anne Moss Watch with Her Kids?
Keanu Reeves is a deep guy with amazing movie recs.
In a recent article with Esquire, we get a rather deep profile on Keanu Reeves. In it, we hear actors and actresses talk about who Keanu is in their lives and why they love him. One story, in particular, struck me. Reeves' movie recommendations he gave to Carrie-Anne Moss for titles to watch with her kids.
This happened toward the end of filming The Matrix: Resurrections. According to the article, Moss had asked Reeves to recommend movies she could watch with her teenage kids.
Moss said, “In the Matrix movies, I’ve always felt like I was his partner, and he was my partner, in the execution of these characters... It was never the feeling of, Oh, he’s the movie star. His work ethic is unlike anyone I’ve ever met, and I’ve seen it up close. He trains harder, works harder, cares more, always asks more and more questions to understand the depth of what we’re doing. And while he was doing all of that for himself, he always had an eye out for me. Like when I asked him for those movies, it seems like a little thing, but he’s so busy, he’s exhausted, and took the time to write this very, very thoughtful list.”
So what was on the list Reeves gave her?
- The Neon Demon
- A Clockwork Orange
- Rollerball
- The Bad Batch
- Dr. Strangelove
- Seven Samurai
- Amadeus
- Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead
- The Evil Dead
- Raising Arizona
- The Big Lebowski
- La Femme Nikita (the French version)
- The Professional
- Young Frankenstein
- Blazing Saddles
- Monty Python and the Holy Grail
- The Outlaw Josey Wales
- The Road Warrior: Mad Max 2
No word on the sons' reaction to the movies or the list. But if you have kids and want to show them some movies, this is a great place to start.
