SmallHD’s advanced software toolset, PageOS, is back with another firmware update that is set to offer not a major redesign or anything, but some more quality-of-life improvements and updates for compatible monitors in its ecosystem.

This PageOS firmware version 6.3.4 update builds on the PageOS 6.3 version we covered in the past, taking things a step further by providing manufacturing improvements for select on-camera monitors.

Let’s check out what’s new and what you need to know.

SmallHD PageOS Firmware Update 6.3.4

Again, this isn’t a major firmware update like the 6.3 update or anything like that. Instead, it’s a nice improvement that is set to include display tuning improvements for select Ultra 7 panels and some other updates.

This update, the company notes, will not support the following monitors, so keep that in mind before you dive further:

  • Focus 5 & 7 (LCD, OLED, HDMI, SDI, & RX/TX)
  • 2403 HDR & 2403 HB
  • 1703 HDR & 1703 Studio
  • 1303 Studio
  • 700 Series - 701, 701L, 702 Bright, 702 OLED
  • 500 Series - 501, 502, 502 Bright

The company also notes that the firmware is NOT compatible with the DSMC3 RED®Touch or Action 5 either. For a complete list of compatible monitors, head to SmallHD’s website here.

How to Download and Install

If you do have a SmallHD monitor that is compatible and set to benefit from this update (most notably for Ultra 7 models like the RX, TX, and the Ultra 7 itself), then you can find more info on how to download and install on the company’s download page here.

Just keep in mind that this is a new firmware update, and the company has shared that there have been some known issues with Quantum 32 Waveform, including sparkly artifacts in the waveform data, an issue observed on only a small percentage of units.
