This weekend's Super Bowl brought the Los Angeles Rams the trophy, but the commercials might have been the highlight of the game. A 30-second spot cost $7 million, so companies were putting out their best and most inventive ways to gather viewers. My favorite was directed by Sopranos creator David Chase, in which Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Robert Iler reprise their roles as Tony Soprano’s children, Meadow and AJ.

We see Meadow driving part all her old haunts in an electric truck, and then finally meeting up with her brother and sharing a hug. It was sweet. but many have wondered, since it came from Chase, shared the theme song, and used the tone of the show... is this canon?

Do Meadow and AJ now have their lives together and meet up near the haunt where their father was brutally gunned down to hug once in a while?

A year after The Many Saints of Newark, I do wonder if Chase has an appetite to dig back into The Sopranos and explore stories from the current time as well. When you have such solid characters, it can be very tempting to go back in and play in those worlds.
