4K footage from 200+ of the world’s best filmmakers.
Stock footage often gets a bad wrap, and, to be honest, rightfully so. There are so many sites out there that focus on having the most stock in their libraries -- the most diverse clips, the most HD -- which isn't inherently a bad thing, but what about quality? This is an issue new stock footage site Filmsupply addresses directly.
Created as a compliment to Musicbed's popular music licensing site, Filmsupply offers filmmakers, producers, and agencies footage captured by some of the world's most celebrated filmmakers, like Shane Hurlbut, Philip Bloom, and top production companies around the world.
Like Musicbed, Filmsupply exists not only for those who need content, but also for content creators. It's there to benefit both. Founder and CEO of Musicbed and Filmsupply Daniel McCarthy explains why he and his team decided to launch Filmsupply.
For years, film directors and producers have looked to Musicbed for quality music to help tell their stories, while also supporting great musicians. We are launching Filmsupply to further connect and serve our community of filmmakers, giving them a way to monetize hours and hours of amazing footage that was previously left on the cutting room floor.
Filmsupply offers a lot of great features. Here are three of our favorite:
- They have a global network of over 220 exclusive, hand-picked contributors that allow users to commission exclusive footage. All content is rights-managed and all files and contributors are exclusive to the site.
- Their collections are highly curated and highlight the filmmaker who captured the footage.
- 75% of all of the footage on Filmsupply is available in 4K.
If you're interested in giving Filmsupply a try, they're offering NFS readers an exclusive discount. Just use the code "NFS50" to get 50% off of your entire order until September 18th, 2015.

Looks like a brilliant execution on the sorely needed resource of high-quality stock footage. Story & Heart has been go-to for the past few months, but I don't much care for their navigation and content filtering. This seems way more intuitive.

"Filmsupply exists … for content creators." Founder Daniel McCarthy forgot to add, "in an exclusive club". As if stock footage companies have not forced the market into enough of a race to $0 content, now there's a club exclusive to big names like Shane Hurlbut and Philip Bloom.
Hooray!

I tried a search, but the thumbnails loaded terribly slow.
Maybe an overload due to the pressrelease?
Anyway, I couldn't watch what I looked for, so I can't say how great it all is ;-)

Reminds me of Dissolve. Btw. what royalty rate do they have?
Also, any agency now has quality 4K content. Pond5 is best for artists.

Keywords seem to be irrelevant: I entered "Los Angeles arial night." Not a single shot of LA, but a helluva lot of fireworks clips and shots of almost every other major city on the planet. Tried "Los Angeles," got ONE stupidly composed and jerky shot of some buildings and a lot of fireworks clips. Is this site for real?
