The more gear you obtain, the more storage becomes an issue, and for many of us who operate out of a single room in our houses or apartments (if we're even that lucky), space is something we simply don't have, especially for all of our unwieldy light stands, tripods, and boom poles. So, if you're looking for a creative way to not only get your stands out of the way, but also to keep it organized and accessible, you should try this great DIY idea from The Film Look, which only requires a few inexpensive items to build.

Clutter seriously drives me crazy, but it's so much worse when I'm trying to rifle through all of my unorganized gear or pack up the stuff I need for a shoot. That's why I always appreciate finding simple yet effective solutions to gear storage like the one from the video, because I don't have to go out and buy a new storage cabinet or shelves or some other expensive piece of furniture.

All the items you're going to need for this are:

  • Wall plugs (x4)
  • Screw hooks (x4)
  • Bungee cords (x2)

Measure our the length you need, screw in your hardware, and that's pretty much all you need to do to have an effective storage space for your stands. It's against a wall to maximize your space and the bungees are strong enough to hold things in place but flexible enough for you to grab whatever you need quickly.
