Here's a List of Everything Steven Soderbergh Read and Watched in 2018
Including 'Glengarry Glen Ross' and the 70th annual Emmy Awards.
Many of us enjoy keeping a list of the art we consume on an annual basis. Certain social-based websites have thrived on the notion, including Goodreads for bibliophiles and Letterboxd for cinephiles. Before the internet made it easy to log and store such lists, a handy word processor or pencil and paper would have sufficed, and in many capacities, still do: journal entries consisting of movies watched and books read sounds like a complete delight.
Famed director Steven Soderbergh has received some notoriety for obsessively keeping track of the films and television series he watches and the books, plays, and short stories he reads in a calendar year.
A constant consumer, Soderbergh (as evidenced by his list below) is often a fan of the thinly-related double feature, and it's a pleasure to skim through the list and see what he came across on an almost daily basis. She's Lost Control (female empowered) and Glengarry Glen Ross (testosterone-fueled) back-to-back on January 9th, 2018? Why not? A wintery double feature of Crazy Rich Asians and the director's own Unsane? Sure thing. Began principal photography on his latest feature on February 27th? It appears so.
Before you dive into Soderbergh's list (which can also be found here) first, an index to help understand the groupings.
