After a first season that was edgy, thrilling, diverse, and exciting, American Gods returns to Starz with new showrunner Jesse Alexander replacing Bryan Fuller and Michael Green on the second season.

While changing showrunners can be dramatic behind the scenes, the show promises to continue to focus on the humanity and drama on screen. Based on the Neil Gaiman masterpiece, Season Two looks to pick up where Season One left off, this time incorporating new cast members like Dean Winters as Mr. Town.

We also get Devery Jacobs as Sam Black Crow, and Kayhun Kim will replace Gillian Anderson as New Media.

Timeless' Sakina Jaffrey has joined the American Gods cast as Mama-Ji, a waitress at the Motel America.

Returning cast members include Ricky Whittle as Shadow Moon, Ian McShane as Mr. Wednesday, Emily Browning as Laura Moon, Pablo Schreiber as Mad Sweeney, Orlando Jones as Mr. Nancy, Yetide Badaki as Bilquis, Bruce Langley as Technical Boy, Crispin Glover as Mr. World, Cloris Leachman as Zorya Vechernyaya, Peter Stormare as Czernobog, Mousa Kraish as The Jinn, Omid Abtahi as Salim, Chris Obi as Anubis, and Demore Barnes as Mr. Ibis.

That key art is exciting, but nothing is better than this new trailer.

The official synopsis of American Gods is as follows:

“We were forged in God’s image, but the Gods are also made in ours — and in Season Two the battle moves inexorably toward crisis point as the destinies of gods and men collide. While Mr. World plots revenge for the attack against him in Season One, Shadow throws in his lot with Wednesday’s attempt to convince the Old Gods of the case for full-out war, with Laura and Mad Sweeney in tow. A council at the House on the Rock explodes into chaos, sending deities both Old and New on quests across America that will converge on Cairo, Illinois forcing Shadow to carve out a place as a believer in this strange new world of living gods — a dark world where change demands commitment and faith requires terrible sacrifice.”

American Gods Season 2 will premiere on Sunday, March 10th, 2019 at 8 p.m. ET on Starz and will be available the same day on the Starz App.
