Luckily, Atomos has stepped up and quickly rolled out an updated version of with the Atomos Shinobi SDI which updates (and secures) better connectors.

The biggest update with the SDI is definitely the addition of both an HD-SDI in and an HD-SDI out. The new ports will also be lockable now for more security and better connections. The monitor will be just as bright with 1000nit for the 5” (1920x1080) touchscreen display.

Here are the full specs for the SDI:

  • 1920 x 1080 Touchscreen Display
  • 3G-SDI & 4K HDMI Inputs
  • 10-Bit Exterior Viewable Monitor
  • 1000 cd/m² Brightness
  • AtomHDR Mode with 10-Stop Dynamic Range
  • Supports a Variety of Log Formats
  • Real Time LUT Preview in HDR/SDR
