Commemorate John Candy's Passing With This Moving Tribute Video

When was the first time you saw John Candy in a movie? Like many, my introduction was him in Home Alone. I remember howling at his polka lines, and how much my parents also thought he was funny. As I got older, I enjoyed watching him in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, Stripes, and Uncle Buck. But Candy's career in Hollywood wasn't long.
Candy died on March 4, 1994, after suffering a heart attack while shooting the film “Wagons East” in Durango, Mexico. He was only 43 years old.
Now, many people are turning back, twenty-five years after his death, and reflecting on the comedy that makes John Candy still feel alive.
Over the weekend, Ryan Reynolds tweeted this great link to a mash-up of some of Candy's most memorable scenes.
Candy's children responded, both thanking Reynolds for the project. Jennifer Candy wrote:
"This made me cry. It's so amazing and sweet!...He has so many people that absolutely love him, he was one of the best."
Candy was beloved by all of Hollywood, and many actors and actresses expressed their love of working with the gentle giant. If you're looking for a more in-depth look at Candy's career, I can't recommend this 6-minute documentary on him enough.
