Take advantage of this price drop on the CAME-TV Astral Wireless Follow Focus.

CAME-TV has made a name for itself for offering quality filmmaking gear at prices low-budget creatives can afford. Its Astral Follow Focus is no different, offering powerful wireless focus, iris, and zoom control for under $300. But now, CAME-TV has dropped the price by 15% on this already inexpensive unit so filmmakers of all stripes and financial situations can take advantage of what a follow focus system can offer their productions.

Designed to pair with DSLR, mirrorless, and cine-style lenses, the Astral Follow Focus system has a lot to offer. The two units, the focus control motor and the focus handwheel, are able to connect from 328 feet away over a 2.4 GHz wireless signal. The handwheel has a built-in marking disk with light indicator and an OLED display that displays the unit's battery level, connection, calibration, travel, and memory info. It also features run/stop and shutter functions. The motor features a 0.8 MOD gear and 0.5Nm speed at a maximum 250 rpm. The follow focus system features a mini-USB port and auto-calibration. As far as power goes, the motor can be powered by either your camera or an external battery, while the handwheel is powered by a built-in 1000mAh LiPo battery with up to 8-hours of life.

The hand unit looks better featured than the one on the similarly priced Nucleus Nano, but the motor seems to have half the torque that of the nucleus.

This does not seem like a product for DSLR shooters. I could see it being used on a tripod but not with a gimbal. Unless you have an external monitor someone is using to pull focus as you walk around with your DSLR mounted to a gimbal and also have a D-Tap battery in your pocket. None of the videos on their own sales website for the Came-TV Astral even show a DSLR camera being used. When I got my Moza Air 2 it came with a follow focus made specifically to work with that gimbal. This works well for shooting wedding videos if you're a DSLR shooter. The focus is pulled from a knob on the side of the gimbal and the focus motor mounts much like the Came-TV Astral but the one I have for my Moza is self powered or it can be powered through the gimbal itself. Oh and it's wireless too. It seems like an amazing product but only if you have the right camera.
