Everyone always wants to know how their favorite new films were created. A big part of that is gear—although it's not the end-all-be-all. You can get a great-looking project from an older or underused camera if you know what you're doing.

But it is good to keep up with what the pros are using! We now know what cameras were used on many of this year's big Cannes films.

The chart showcases various top-of-the-line cinema cameras to ones you could buy at your local Best Buy. The fact that multiple budget levels are represented here should encourage filmmakers everywhere!

You don't need the best and most expensive gear out there, just a story to tell.

What do you think of the chart? Did anything surprise you? Let us know in the comments!
