When you're trying to pick a movie to stream at home, do you look at the clock or consider the length? I certainly do if I'm starting it and have errands or meetings to run, but otherwise, I just watch what I'm in the mood to see.

Still, there is something enticing about a category of smaller bites... that are still not TV...

And Netflix apparently thinks other people feel this way, because it's introducing a new "Movies Under 90 Minutes" category. You can find the category here (or by searching on the Netflix app).

The dropdown contains subcategories like action, comedy, and drama that define the genre of the shorter movie. Before you get too upset, the category has titles like Ma Rainey’s Black BottomSpace Jam, and Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

I usually am a film purist, but I think this is actually a fun idea. We have a category for epics, which are usually longer movies with incredible scope. Why not have one for tight genre pieces?

I hope this idea makes its way global soon. Do you think this is a good idea? Let us know in the comments.
