Taika Waititi and Krysty Wilson-Cairns Are Making a New Star Wars Movie
Breaking: Academy Award® winner Taika Waititi and Academy Award® nominee Krysty Wilson-Cairns to write a Star Wars film together.
Fresh off 1917 and Jojo Rabbit, the duo will team up in a galaxy far, far away, with Waititi directing and co-writing with Wilson-Cairns.
Waititi is no stranger to the Star Wars universe, he directed an episode in the widely-acclaimed first season finale episode of The Mandalorian on Disney+. He also played a character on it.
This new Star Wars feature film will be for theatrical release. Theaters... remember those?
Wilson-Cairns will look to parlay her success from 1917 into another blockbuster world.
No word yet as to the logline of the movie or if it will be expanded into a larger world, but these two people are working at the top of their game and everyone should be curious to see how much elbow room Disney gives them, and what kind of creation they put together in the post-Skywalker saga landscape fo the mega-franchise.
Release dates have not yet been announced.
What do you want to see these two tackle in the Star Wars universe?
