Paul Dano Brushes Off Tarantino's Rip And Lets Hollywood Do The Talking
The classy actor knows where he stands in this town.

'Love and Mercy'
A few months ago, we covered Quentin Tarantino's harsh words concerning actor Paul Dano. The basic idea was that Tarantino called him the "weakest" member of SAG and roasted Dano while on the Bret Easton Ellis podcast.
It was a distasteful remark that felt unfounded, mostly because we have so much proof out there of Paul Dano being a great actor. and also the actor keeps working and booking great roles to shine.
Let's dive into the rebuttal.
Dano's Response is a Lesson For All Of Hollywood
When someone publicly insults you, there are only a couple of ways to react. You can snap back, or you can just take it and ignore ot.
In Dano's case, he kind of got to do both.
Dano's response came at a Little Miss Sunshine retrospective conducted at Sundance this year. Even then, his costar Toni Collette said, “Are we really going there? F*ck that guy! He must’ve been high… it was just confusing. Who does that?”
Collette pretty much summarized the voices airing from Hollywood, both on social media and in interviews.
Hollywood has been clapping back for months, publicly supporting Dano and raising his work across his entire career.
There have been countless thinkpieces on the tastelessness of the remakes and also ones celebrating Dano's career.
When it came time for Dano to respond, he addressed how it felt like the town rallied around him.
Dano told Variety, “That was really nice,” and continued, “I was also incredibly grateful that the world spoke up for me so I didn’t have to.”
It was a great way to let your work and your allies be the loudest voices in the room.
This is one of those stories that proves Dano has class and integrity. It would be easy to fire back at the director, but instead, Dano has let his work do the talking. Just the very idea that he's been at it for over 20 years should be enough to prove he's got what it takes.
Maybe a lesson for every filmmaker in this town is that in Hollywood, you're not going to be everyone's taste. Instead of changing to please one person or to gather more people, it's important just to be yourself. Hilariously, this is what I'll give credit to Tarantino for; he knows being himself is what makes him popular.
And you know what, it turns out Dano knows that, too.
Let your work speak loudest for you, even if not everyone loves it.
There will always be naysayers or people who don't believe in certain projects or talents. All you can do is put in the work, strive for that success, and work with the people who share the same beliefs and ideals as you.
