ARRI and The Helm have announced a new strategic partnership between the brands, aiming to help redefine live broadcast production. Here’s what you need to know.

AMIRA Live
Despite news still swirling of a potential sale, ARRI has made headlines this morning not with an acquisition, but rather a partnership. ARRI and The Helm, a global expert in cinematic live broadcast and high-end production workflows, have announced a strategic partnership that formalizes an already long-standing relationship between the two companies.
The goal here is to cement The HELM as ARRI’s first global Live Solution Partner and mark a significant milestone in the integration of ARRI’s groundbreaking multicam technology into live broadcast and production environments worldwide.
Here’s what you need to know about this announcement and what it could mean for the future of both brands.
ARRI and The Helm Partnership
So, from the official statement put out by ARRI, it doesn’t sound like a lot is going to change for either brand here off the bat. However, under this new partnership, The Helm will serve as ARRI’s global integration partner for live production, provide industry-leading turnkey solutions, project delivery expertise, and technical leadership.
“Our collaboration with The HELM marks an important step forward in bringing ARRI’s cinematic technology to live production at scale. By combining ARRI’s technical innovation with The HELM’s live production expertise, we’re empowering broadcast and event producers to deliver the unmistakable ARRI look in real time—from major sporting events and concerts to large-scale broadcast productions without compromising creative intent.” — ARRI’s Managing Director Chris Richter.
The goal here seems to be to simply ensure that ARRI Live Solutions can be integrated and supplied for any project as a managed service, bringing cinema-quality images with full workflow support. It also could possibly accelerate the adoption of ARRI’s live broadcast solutions as an end-to-end service offering, supporting productions and content creators in integrating this technology across live broadcasting, film and television, and corporate events.
Future Joint Initiatives
An interesting note in the statement from ARRI also seems to indicate that the two companies will look to collaborate on joint initiatives spanning marketing, technical development, training, and pilot projects, to still ensure the seamless integration of cinematic camera solutions into broadcast workflows with the precision and reliability for which both brands are known.
The partnership should also accelerate and bring to life new technical innovations and products, giving productions a single point of contact for global solutions, lowering the barrier to entry for accessing ARRI technology, and reducing operational risk through a trusted and experienced team.
