Atomos is making the Ninja V+ more affordable than ever with its Level Up Promo, which delivers its top-of-the-line recorder for under $1,000.
Capable of recording at resolutions ranging from HD 120fps to 8K at 30fps, the Atomos Ninja V+ is an ideal external recorder for boosting the resolution range of your camera platform and squeezing out the most details from your current camera rig. The Ninja V+ can record larger frame sizes, high frame rates, and provide support for advanced codecs.
The evolutionary speed of digital camera development is practically exponential. Camera companies are coming out with new platforms almost as quickly as cellphone companies do with mobile phones. This breakneck speed can make keeping up with the state-of-the-art a very daunting task for a shooter. But adding a high-end external video recorder like the Ninja V+ can future-proof your existing camera platform, and give you breathing room to practice your craft without being in a perpetual learning curve with newly developed platforms.
The heart of the Ninja V+ is the Atomos AtomiC3 processor, which not only provides a wide range of resolutions, but also the ability to capture images through a vast array of codecs, ranging from Apple ProRes RAW to AVID DNX to H.265.
Along with harnessing the lightning-quick HDMI 2.0 connections, the Ninja V+ can be used with over 30 popular cameras ranging from mirrorless platforms like Canon, Panasonic, Nikon, Olympus, Leica, and Fujifilm, to Cinema Camera rigs including Z Cam, RED, and ARRI.
Other key features include:
- 1920 x 1080 Touchscreen Display
- 4K HDMI Input, SSD Drive Caddy
- Single Sony L-Series Battery Slot
- 1TB SSDmini Drive, SATA III Connector
- Monitor Mount and High-Speed HDMI Cable
- 2 x NP-F750 Batteries and Charger
- SSDmini 20% Smaller than Average SSD
- 10-Bit 4:2:2 ProRes and DNxHR Encoding
- 560/520 MB/s Read/Write Speed
With an external recorder that’s clearly built to grow with content creators, the Ninja V+ can provide high performance, while being nimble enough to top just about any mobile setup for shooting in a wide variety of cinematic conditions.
And for shooters who want to future-proof their existing 4K cameras, Atomos has updated the Ninja V and V+ to bring Apple ProRes RAW to legacy platforms including the Sony FS series, the Canon EOS R5, and the Panasonic LUMIX BS1H. This will give longer legs to older cameras from the Sony FS5*, FS5 MKII, FS700*, and FS700r with continuous output directly from the sensor up to 2K 240fps, 4K 60fps, and 4K 120fps for 4s bursts.
RAW output at 4K 60fps and 2K up to 240fps can also be added to the Sony FS7 or FS7 MKII with the addition of the XDCA-FS7 module. But note that on certain models, a paid RAW subscription from Sony is required.
Meanwhile, the Canon R5 mirrorless camera can shoot 5K RAW with an updated Ninja V, and even boost up to 8K RAW on the Ninja V+. The Panasonic LUMIX BS1H allows recordings of 5.9K 30fps, 4.1K 60fps, and 3.5K 50fps anamorphic.
The timing for this update couldn’t be more perfect, as Atomos is launching its Level Up Promotion just in time for Black Friday. From now through Dec. 31, 2021, their Ninja V+ Level Up Promo will bring the Ninja V+ external monitor recorder for $999 through Atomos.com and authorized Atomos retailers. Find a retailer near you with Atomos’ searchable worldwide database, which not only shows a nearby retailer but lists the current bundles available should you also need a new camera.
If you’re looking to extend the useful windows of your Legacy camera platform, then there’s no time like the present to reward a hard-working year of content creation and setting yourself up for 2022 through an 8K RAW recording powerhouse like the Ninja V+.
