The Golden Globes is always a fun awards show that is a bit less formal, more off-the-cuff than the big Bertha Academy Awards (which will happen on March 15th this year). The Golden Globes highlight the best films and television shows of the year, while it may differ a bit, it does tend to vault up projects that will likely get other wins during the award season.

For filmmakers looking for what they can learn, or steal, from these projects, in some ways, we always gravitate to asking what cameras were used on these projects and why. Of course, as you might expect if you’ve followed these camera selections at major festivals and awards shows over the years, there is, of course, one brand that remains one of the most popular choices.

ARRI Dominates the Golden Globes

As has been the case many years in the past, ARRI is once again one of the top brands at awards shows like the Golden Globes. That’s nothing new, as ARRI has a stronghold on the cinematic filmmaking industry and is a popular choice for shorts and features ranging from indies to studio projects.

However, there were some notable exceptions, as films such as Frankenstein were shot not just with an ARRI ALEXA 65, but also used a RED V-Raptor XL, and large format projects like Sinners obviously used IMAX and Panavision 65 cameras.

Still, most intriguingly, one camera within ARRI’s lineup appears to have been the most popular as well.

ARRI ALEXA 35 Reigns Supreme

According to ARRI’s own data, the company reports that the camera of choice at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards was the ALEXA 35, which led the way with 15 projects opting to film with it, with other cameras like the ALEXA Mini LF, ALEXA Mini, and classic ARRICAM and ARRIFLEX analog cameras proving to be popular options as well.

Some notable projects that used the ARRI ALEXA 35 include Hamnet, No Other Choice, and The Secret Agent, all projects that have received high honors and awards at the Golden Globes and other awards shows this season.

If you’re someone looking to use what the best filmmakers use for their top projects, the ARRI ALEXA 35 might be where you want to look for projects on your radar now or further in the future.
