As teased the other week with some official demo videos and review units sent to select creators in Japan, Canon has now officially unveiled the new Canon PowerShot V1 to the rest of the world.
Set to reinvigorate the already humming point-and-shoot camera market, the Canon PowerShot V1 should certainly be enticing to photographers and even a few videographers looking to make use of a powerful yet quite affordable point-and-shoot camera.

Designed for creators who want to pursue their own visual expression without compromising quality, the new Canon PowerShot V1 is a point-and-shoot camera that should be quite lightweight and compact, as well as powerful and capable of high-quality photos and video.
The PowerShot V1 features a smart and modern design and should be quite comfortable for both normal and selfie-style shooting. The camera will feature an ultra wide-angle zoom lens that should offer approximately 17-52mm for movie recording and 16-50mm/F2.8-4.5 for still imagery.
A new 1.4 type sensor with approximately 22.3 megapixels for stills, while the PowerShot’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF II will also offer improved AF speed and subject detection tracking performance when compared to the previous PowerShot G7 X Mark III model.
