'Captain Marvel' Directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck Break Down a Scene

We're not breaking much news when we announce that Captain Marvel, the latest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is currently in theaters and will most likely break all kinds of box office records this weekend. 

Just how was the film put together? Well, on a completely micro-level, the video below is here to show you.

Directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck have teamed up with Vanity Fair to break down a scene from the film that takes place on a moving subway car in Los Angeles. They have those there? Yes, apparently. 

You've probably caught a glimpse of the scene from the myriad of trailers that have been released thus far: Brie Larson's character identifies a seemingly nice old lady as a murderous, shape-shifting villain and proceeds to punch her square in the face. A transit battle ensues.

These scene breakdowns, while brief, are always a fun watch and can be qualified as informative if you're looking to divulge some tidbits from the minutia of an individual scene. From drawing inspiration from William Friedkin's The French Connection to praising their game casting director, Boden and Fleck take the time to reveal where their inspiration (as well as their production heroes) came from.
