DaVinci Resolve 20 Introduces More Than 100 New Features and AI-Powered Tools
Here’s everything you need to know about Blackmagic Design’s DaVinci Resolve 20 and all of its new tools and features.

Along with the (somewhat of a) surprise announcement of a new PYXIS 12K cinema camera, Blackmagic has also kicked off NAB 2025 with the introduction of DaVinci Resolve 20. Set to include over 100 new features and some notable AI-powered tools designed to assist with all stages of your post-production workflows, this is one of Resolve’s biggest updates in quite some time.
AI is, of course, a huge part of this newest version, with tools like AI IntelliScrip, AI Animated Subtitles, and AI Multicam SmartSwitch being some of the most notable new AI-powered features.
However, there are a lot of new tools and improvements to check out. So, here’s everything you need to know about DaVinci Resolve 20.
Introducing DaVinci Resolve 20
Blackmagic Design
Debuting as a massive update with over 100 new features, this is pretty big news for Resolve editors as well as pretty much everyone who works in some form of post-production. AI tools have already very much been a part of Resolve’s workflow for most users, however, things are certainly kicking up a notch with this new version.
As mentioned above, the big updates are going to be new AI tools such as IntelliScript, music editor, and multi-cam SmartSwitch, plus keyframe editing, voice-over palette, multi-layer compositing, and several more features are set to be added or receive some notable boosts.
AI Tools and New Features

Looking specifically at these new AI tools and features, editors can use the AI IntelliScript to create timelines based on a text script, AI Animated Subtitles to animate words as they are spoken, and AI Multicam SmartSwitch to assemble a timeline with camera angles based on speaker detection.
The cut and edit pages will also introduce a dedicated keyframe editor and voiceover palettes, and AI Audio Assistant analyzes your audio and intelligently creates a professional audio mix. For those looking for boosts to working in Fusion, editors can now explore advanced multi-layer compositing workflows. Plus, the Color Warper will now include Chroma Warp, and other tools like Magic Mask and Depth Map will receive huge updates as well.
