Looking for Film Financing? This New Filmmaker-Built Platform Aims to Help You Wrangle Incentives
Currently available in Texas, Louisiana, and Kentucky at launch, this new filmmaker-built platform for navigating incentive programs will expand with limited early access to additional US markets.

Goldenrod Film Financing Platform
Hands down, probably the most important part of the filmmaking process, which gets the least amount of coverage and resources, is financing. We'd love to cover it more, but even in today’s age of tech startups and disruptions, it’s still just as complex, complicated, and tricky to navigate.
But some are trying to help, as we see with the team at Goldenrod, a real-time financial monitoring, compliance, and optimization platform built for filmmakers, by filmmakers.
Officially available for Texas-based productions and a few other states, the platform aims to expand with limited early access for productions in additional US markets here soon.

As mentioned above, this regional platform was originally launched to serve Texas, Louisiana, and Kentucky-based productions, but it is opening a limited national early-access program for productions outside the state as well.
It has a growing track record of success, as multiple films that premiered at SXSW 2026 utilized the platform during a private testing phase. As someone local to Texas and living in Austin, where there’s been quite a shakeup, states are offering new incentives and programs; Texas, for example, recently passed a $1.5B fund.
However, navigating the process of getting these funds and programs into filmmakers' hands is still tricky. And that’s pretty much where companies like Goldenrod and this new platform could be of the most help.

"I've spent years producing projects in Texas, watching real money slip away because incentives compliance is genuinely hard to get right, even when you're trying. The administrative load pulls you off set, off the creative work, and if you miss something, you're either leaving significant dollars on the table or facing disqualification entirely. That cycle is what pushed us to build Goldenrod. Think of it like TurboTax for production incentives: you focus on the work, we make sure you're maximizing every dollar you're entitled to, and your financiers always know exactly where things stand." - Goldenrod co-founder and The Ranch Productions founder Russell Wayne Groves (Family Movie, Stages).
If you happen to be in one of the states where Goldenrod currently operates, or if you’re anywhere else and interested in learning where the company might be allowing early access to its program, then you can find out more about the company and what it could offer for help navigating this new, yet still the same, era of film financing.
