NX Studio is Nikon's version of Adobe Bridge and Lightroom wrapped into one simple-to-use program.
Nikon has released NX Studio, new standalone software that allows you to process and edit video and still images captured from Nikon digital cameras, including its most recent mirrorless flagship, the Nikon Z7 II.
NX Studio is completely free and supports both Windows (8.1/10) and Mac (Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur) operating systems. The software integrates the image viewing features of ViewNX-i and the processing and editing features of Capture NX-D into one easy-to-use program.
The interface has a built-in video editor where you can trim clips, add music, or splice multiple clips into a single movie. When it comes to still images, the program is a little more robust as it gives full-color control to adjust brightness, saturation, hue, or contrast from selected areas. You can also process RAW images from .NEF and .NRW files and adjust white balance, exposure, noise reduction, and others. Additionally, JPEG and TIFF formats are also supported.
New to NX Studio is the LCH Tool, which allows you to fine-tune your image through lightness, chroma, and hue channels for a specified look.
NX Studio is also compatible across Nikon's software suite including Camera Control Pro 2 and Picture Control Utility 2. The program even has options to post directly to YouTube or Image Space.
You can download your free copy through the Nikon website.
