Optically, the FE 20mm F1.8 G is cut from the same cloth as the G Master series and has two aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements to reduce chromatic aberration. Performance-wise, this G Master lens delivers high corner-to-corner image quality with minimal distortion, even wide open. It's what we've grown to expect from the lineup.

Two XD Linear Motors provide swift autofocus with precise tracking for both stills and video shooting.  A 7.5-inch (19 cm) close-focusing distance makes it ideal for close-up videography especially for car work or tight spaces.

The side of the lens features a quick on/off switch for clickless aperture operation. This is ideal for video shooters and something all still lens manufacturers should steal from. The FE 20mm F1.8 G also offers a linear response manual focus ring to give more control over manual focusing.

There's an AF/MF switch, as well as and a customizable focus hold buttonall features benefiting user operation. The front lens element has a fluorine coat to repel water and its design is dust and moisture resistant. For a 20mm lens, it's light, weighing only 13.2 oz (373 g).

Pricing & Availability

The FE 20mm F1.8 G will ship March 2020 for $899.99 USD and $1,199.99 CAD.
