It’s always exciting when a new camera is teased. And while unverified rumors and conjecture are always fun ways to get camera news, too, it’s even more exciting when the teaser comes from the brand releasing the new camera itself.
So you know this one is legit.
Sony has released a teaser for its new RX10 Cyber-Shot camera, a sequel to its popular point-and-shoot line. If you’re one of those who have been “waiting” for this new release, here’s what you need to know about the camera that’s set to be officially revealed later this week.
Sony RX10 Teaser
On the company’s official social channels, Sony has unveiled a teaser for a new RX10 camera, captioning it, “The wait is over.”
A follow-up to the popular DSC-RX10 digital camera, this new version will likely be another compact, point-and-shoot that features capable photo and video specs—but isn’t meant to be a serious challenger for the company's higher-end mirrorless options.
Still, a new RX10 would be quite exciting for the right type of content creator, travel photographer, or hybrid shooter looking for a nice mix of versatility and video recording capabilities.
What We Know So Far
From Sony's social post, we don’t know much, to be honest. The caption just declares that the wait is over, while we get some silhouetted shots of the camera. We do see that the new camera will feature what looks to be a long-zoom lens that extends quite far.
The big news here is that the camera is confirmed, and we have a date for the full announcement: Sony has shared that all will be officially revealed this Thursday, 7/9/2026.
So, stay tuned, and we’ll let you know the full details once they’ve officially been revealed.
