Along with a couple new lines of 4K camcorders announced earlier today with the Canon VIXIA G-Series and their Pro XA camcorders, Canon is also reportedly set to show off two new portable 4K broadcast zoom lenses with their CJ18ex28B and the CJ15ex8.5B.
According to Canon U.S.A. President and COO Kazuto Ogawa:
“The demand for affordable, high-quality 4K UHD lenses for television news has continued to grow year over year, and as the needs of our customers mature, Canon continues to evolve to meet the needs of end-users. These new UHDgc lenses provide the optical brilliance that makes Canon a leader in broadcast lenses, while maintaining a price point that fits the budgetary needs of a large segment of the industry.”
Both of these new lenses are “world’s first” for 4K UHD broadcast with 2/3-inch sensors. Ideal for run-and-gun broadcast and documentary filmmaking, both lenses are set to offer some crazy coverage capabilities with some impressive zoom ratios and lightweight, handheld-friendly design.
