Aputure's Popular STORM and MC Pro Lights Get User-Requested Fixes
A look at all of the new improvements (and a few new features) coming to a range of Aputure lights and products.

One of the leading designers in cinema LED lighting hardware and software, Aputure has a lot of great lighting options for a wide range of project types. Yet, if you’re someone who works in film and video and is looking for very specific colors and controls, it would make sense that you’d always want to be working with the very best lighting available.
To that end, Aputure is doing well on its promise of excellence by releasing some notable firmware updates to several of its products. These firmware updates will add some new controls and rectify certain light behaviors.
Let’s look at everything new set to come to the STORM 80c, 1000c, and 1200x, as well as the MC Pro lights with these latest firmware updates.
Aputure’s Statement on the Firmware Updates
Coming as a direct result of listening to their clients, Aputure has used this firmware release as a way to rededicate itself to its company mission, with an added promise of even more innovations to come.
“We’re committed to ensuring the lights our customers purchase keep pace with the speed of innovation. With these firmware updates the hugely popular STORM and MC Pro lights will get fixes for fan control in the STORM 1200x, color transitions in the STORM 80c and 1000c, and DMX modes in the MC Pros. We heard from our customers, and the fix is here. To add further value, our engineers utilized the color mixing knowledge we gained in developing the STORM lights and applied it to the light engine already inside the MC Pro. The result is a spectrum that more closely matches the BLAIR-CG light engine in the STORM lights, particularly in saturated yellows and golds. With the MC Pro update in particular we’ve dramatically improved a light many of our customers have owned for two years.” — Ted Sim, President and Co-Founder of Aputure.
The fixes are quite substantive and should help with all types of productions and lighting setups.

Users can find these STORM and MC Pro firmware updates on Aputure’s website and download them now. Aputure does note that due to the nature of these particular firmware releases, the STORM lights, in particular, must be updated over USB-C, and the MC Pro must be updated using the Sidus Link connection.
Otherwise, you should be good to go to download and install and start lighting your projects again as soon as possible.
