Behind the Scenes of 'Superman' 

What makes me excited about this movie is the deep, almost childlike reverence for Superman. Maybe that's just a personal reflection, but it gets me in the mood to go to the theater.

We haven't had an iteration of Superman that's focused on his inherent purity and goodness. This seems to be the vision for this new chapter, spearheaded by James Gunn, which aims to capture that heartfelt essence and the really fun visuals of fighting characters not from this world.

In this video, I could sense a palpable trust in James Gunn's direction and his ability to tell compelling stories. The script is described as unique, suggesting a departure from the norm, and I can't wait to see our hero in a new light.

The sets we're seeing and the VFX look incredible. You can see the massive budget being spent on all the latest tech. I was pausing scenes to see the set builds, as well as how they were hanging cameras, lights, and people from wires.

Like I said up top, the focus is squarely on Superman's fundamental nature – his unwavering hope and drive to save people. It's a return to the basics that made so many fall in love with the character in the first place.

Since this is a new step into the DC universe, there's a lot riding on getting it right. It has to set a precedent for what's to come.

And I'm excited to watch.
