Cine Gear Expo LA 2020 Postponed Until October
Cine Gear Expo reschedules its Los Angeles 2020 show for the fall.
Earlier this month, Cine Gear organizers announced it would be rescheduling its Los Angeles expo held at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, CA. We now know the event will take place from Thursday, October 1 through Sunday, October 4.
The multi-day event features over 300 exhibitors, complimentary seminars, masterclasses, a film competition, tech awards, and special screenings. Cine Gear has become one of the premiere events for filmmakers to gather and network within a studio environment, which No Film School covers regularly.
Cine Gear Expo LA 2020 Schedule
- Thursday, October 1 - 12 pm - 6 pm PST: Film Series
- Friday, October 2 - 12 pm - 8 pm PST: Exhibits and Seminars
- Saturday, October 3 - 10 am - 5 pm PST: Exhibits and Seminars
- Sunday, October 4: Masterclasses
The Cine Gear Expo masterclass schedule is still being determined as well as its location.
Show organizers have issued a statement saying that they are continuing to monitor COVID-19 on a "day-by-day basis" and their "thoughts continue to be with those affected across the world." Organizers have also stated, they will be adhering to all safety measures issued by the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as state and local health authorities.
Cine Gear Expo LA taking place relies heavily on California Governor Gavin Newsom removing the social distance requirements. This week he outlined a framework for reopening the economy in the Golden State but did not offer an end date to the stay-at-home order, which currently ends May 3 statewide. In Los Angeles, where Paramount is located, it's in effect until May 15.
With NAB turning into a virtual event, and companies finding new ways to introduce products, if everything is deemed safe, Cine Gear Expo will be a great opportunity for the filmmaking community to come together again. Let's hope that it does.
Registration for the expo is open and free to attend. No Film School will continue to monitor the event and update you on any new changes.
