Like many of us adapting to a new reality, the producers behind Cine Gear Expo have started considering contingency plans for its Los Angeles show that is scheduled for June 4-7 at the Paramount Studios.

No Film School regularly covers the event that offers filmmakers and creatives an opportunity to get hands-on with the latest storytelling technology or attend seminars to expand skills and knowledge.

The trade show has become popular among attendees as it focuses mainly on filmmaking techniques and gear. In 2017, RED skipped the larger broadcast focused NAB show for Cine Gear, and it was a smart move. NAB can be very expensive for an exhibitor to attend, and Cine Gear Expo is in Hollywood's backyard. All the major manufacturers in the industry exhibit and the show tends to bring out more of the bigger names in the filmmaking community.

In a statement updating the status, an alternative show date is being explored by show management due to the evolving coronavirus which could push the event to later this year. For now, the show is scheduled as planned, but as with the rest of the world, it's being monitored on a day-by-day basis. No Film School reached out to show organizers for comment, and we will update this post with any new information.

Update April 7: Cine Gear producers have told No Film School that once everything is in place (and if necessary), a release will be sent out to attendees.
