DJI Goggles and FPV Drones Get Major Boost with Advanced INAV Support
New firmware updates are set to bring some advanced INAV on-screen display support to DJI Goggles and FPV drones. Here’s what you need to know.

DJI Goggles 3
If you’re an aerial cinematographer or seasoned drone operator (or maybe even a drone racer), you might be a bit familiar with the nuances of how DJI’s FPV drones like the DJI O4 Air Unit or DJI 04 Air Unit Pro work with DJI Goggles models like the 3, 2, and Integra.
What you might not have known though is that this Goggle-to-Drone technology is about to get much better as new firmware updates for the DJI Goggles are set to add new INAV on-screen display support (OSD) for these combos.
Let’s look at what this advanced telemetry data and flight navigation capabilities are set to bring to FPV drone pilots and aspiring aerial videographers with enhanced real-time controls and awareness.
INAV Support Comes to DJI Goggles
If you aren’t super familiar with the term, INAV is an open-source firmware that upgrades a drone’s navigational abilities through navigation-enabled flight control software. This INAV support basically makes navigating and controlling drones like the aforementioned DJI FPV models more responsive and flexible as the INAV technology focuses on flight stability, waypoint navigation, and autonomous flight features.
With this INAV technology being added to these DJI Goggles and FPV drones, users will be able to use some advanced data and technology such as:
- Real-time telemetry data: View altitude, speed, GPS coordinates, and battery life directly in the goggles’ display.
- Waypoint navigation: Plan and execute autonomous flight paths for smoother, more controlled flights.
- Return-to-Home (RTH) enhancements: Improved RTH capabilities for safer landings, even in complex environments.
DJI Firmware Updates
DJI reports that this new INAV technology is going to be added to your favorite DJI Goggles, including the DJI Goggles 3 (Firmware v01.00.0800), the DJI Goggles 2 (Firmware v01.12.0000), and the DJI Goggles Integra (Firmware v01.08.0000).
These firmware updates should also make some other minor feature tweaks and improvements to help unlock smoother flying with the aforementioned DJI FPV drones like the DJI O4 Air Unit and the DJI O4 Air Unit Pro.
