While it’s being marketed for broadcast applications, this new Elite Stabilizer Sled from Steadicam could certainly be used for more than just that. However, if you do work in broadcast and are looking for a new, lightweight stabilization system, this one will be no slouch, as it’s set to come equipped with two adjustable V-mount battery plates that can be pivoted and shifted around for optimal placement—giving users plenty of flexibility in terms of balance and motion.
This new Stabilizer Sled will also feature a rigid top stage that should help reduce vibration transfer, increasing 30 lb load capacity and stability. It will also have some helpful fine-adjust controls on the side of the stage that should further help it be ready for quick, intuitive on-the-fly adjustments.
The company also reports that this Elite version will come with an integrated 3-axis Volt gimbal and pan assistance to help users maintain their horizon line.

The new Steadicam Elite Stabilizer Sled will be available with selectable 12V and 24V power distribution options, supported by the sled without requiring external adapters. Users will also be able to add a monitor of their choice thanks to the universal yoke-style monitor mount, and easily place the sled down when not in use with the docking bracket.
