We've detailed Rokinon/Samyang in a recent "Lenses 101" article, and the rumors have turned out to be true: Rokinon now offers a fourth lens in its Auto Focus series. The 35mm F1.4 AF is designed specifically for Sony E, a lens mount made for NEX and ICLE series cameras like the a9, a7S II, a7R II or a6500.

The high-speed glass covers full-frame sensors using an optical configuration of 11 elements in 9 groups. Two aspherical and two high-refractive index lens elements with the addition of an Ultra Multi-Coating (UMC) minimizes aberrations and unnecessary light dispersion. Rokinon is also saying the lens has a quieter, faster and more precise internal focusing system than previous Auto Focus lenses. For the bokeh seekers, there's a 9-blade diaphragm to produce an out-of-focus aesthetic with shallow depth of field imagery through its full F1.4 - F16 aperture range.

The lens is made from an all-metal housing with a user-friendly grip and comes with a removable and reversible lens hood. If you're using a APS-C Sony E mount camera, it's fully compatible and provides an equivalent focal length of approximately 52mm for a "normal" angle of view.

Now with the 35mm F1.4 AF, the current lineup consists of a 14mm F2.8, 35mm F2.8 and a 50mm F1.4 respectively. The expected arrival is this November for $799.
