This has been a big week for Blackmagic Design, not only did they finally add Blackmagic RAW to their highly coveted Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K, but they also announced an entirely new camera with their new URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2.

So, as always, big news begets big updates and it didn’t take long for Blackmagic to drop a new update for DaVinci Resolve to keep up with their busy week. Let’s take a look at DaVinci Resolve update 15.3 and its new support for both cameras (as well as some general bug fixes and improved features).

DaVinci Resolve 15.3 Update

With both the BMPCC 4K and the new URSA Mini Pro G2 now to include Blackmagic RAW recording, Resolve update 15.3 will update its support and implement BM RAW SDK 1.3 to keep up its workflow functionality.

Update 15.3 will also include the following improvements:

  • Improved support for audio metadata in AAF exports including clip volume, pan data, track volume, and automation

  • Improved performance when selecting clips in the Edit timeline

  • Improved responsiveness when using Wacom tablets on Windows

  • Improved playback behavior on the Edit page

  • Improved timecode support for high frame rate EXR clips
