The AI video model arms race is heating up once again. After ByteDance’s viral Seedance 2.0 model was briefly paused, it has since gone live again, with announced integrations across several platforms over the past week.

However, with every announcement of the viral AI video model’s availability, there’s been the caveat that it would be available only to users abroad, not in the United States. Well, that appears to be done too, as CapCut has announced that Dreamina Seedance 2.0 is being rolled out on its platform in the US.

Now, whether you love or hate this news, that is up to you. But if you’re curious about Seedance 2.0 despite its ethical and legal ramifications, this is likely your best bet to try it out right now. Here’s what CapCut has shared about the company’s rollout.

Dreamina Seedance 2.0 in CapCut

Announced just a few weeks ago as part of the company’s introduction to its new Video Studio, CapCut is doubling down on making Seedance 2.0 available to users in the US with this latest announcement. Despite this official news being shared on CapCut’s social channels, the company appears cautious about how it is billing this availability.

“It might take some time for the model to reach everyone,” the company says in its social post announcing the US availability. The company goes on to promise as well that as the model rolls out, it will partner “with experts and creative communities to learn, iterate, and continuously improve on the ways this model can empower human creativity.”

A Promise of Safeguards

The company has also shared that, in launching its all-in-one editing platform with Dreamina Seedance 2.0 integration, it will also look to incorporate safeguards against the unauthorized use of people’s likenesses and intellectual property, which the AI video model has clearly violated in the viral clips shared online.

Here are some of the safeguards CapCut promises to implement:

  • Restricting certain capabilities for user accounts in this initial rollout, including the ability to make videos from images or videos that contain real faces.
  • Implementing advanced technologies designed to block the unauthorized generation of intellectual property, which we will continuously bolster and expand on through proactive monitoring, in-app reporting, and direct collaboration with creatives and rightsholders.
  • Introducing an advanced "invisible watermarking" technology that will help us identify content made with this model and take action against it when needed, even if it has been shared or altered off our platform.

How to Access

Again, take this news with whatever grains of salt you like. The backlash against AI is real and warranted, but it also hasn’t done much to slow its progress.
