After trade show organizers rescheduled its Los Angeles event to October, they have ultimately decided to cancel the industry event altogether. The announcement comes on the heels of IBC canceling its trade show that would have been held in September.

Cine Gear Expo is multi-day event that features over 300 exhibitors, complimentary seminars, masterclasses, a film competition, tech awards, and special screenings. It's become one of the premiere events for filmmakers to gather and network within a studio environment, which No Film School covers regularly.

Organizers have released a statement on its website, saying:

"In an effort to protect exhibitors, sponsors, partners, staff and visitors from the spread of COVID-19 we have decided to cancel the 2020 LA CineGear Expo. We are disappointed that this year we will not be able to deliver the Cine Gear Expo experience which our exhibitors and attendees look forward to."

Those behind the event have been monitoring city and state mandates and guidance from public health officials since March. The idea was to move the summer event to the fall. This is no longer an option as Cine Gear Expo LA aims to return in 2021 from June 3-6. It's Atlanta event will also make a return in 2021.

In the coming weeks show producers will reach out to anyone who has paid for the event, and they ask you for "your patience as we work our way through this process" and organizers are, "forever grateful for your participation in the Cine Gear community and look forward to the day we can come back strong and safely see each other again."
