Will You Be Keeping Your Disney+ Subscription as Prices Rise?
Disney’s streaming service is getting a price increase—but there is some good news for your wallet.
Just when we think prices can’t keep rising, Disney+ announces that it is getting a price hike on Dec. 8.
According to IGN, the ad-free service costs $7.99 per month, but will bump its monthly price to $10.99. It is enough of a difference to consider whether or not the streaming service is worth it. But if you are a current subscriber, then there is a sweet deal you can make now to lock in the current prices of Disney+ for a whole year.
The annual price will remain the same until Dec. 8, meaning you can lock in the current price of the streaming service now for the next 12 months.
To make the deal sweeter, annual plans are already discounted, making them cheaper than paying month-to-month.

Disney+ does have a lot to offer, giving us all the media from Star Wars, Marvel, Disney, Pixar, National Geographic, The Simpsons, and more original shows and movies. She-Hulk recently completed its first season, setting up another important branch of the MCU. Hocus Pocus 2 made its highly anticipated debut on the platform, and Andor, a prequel series to Rogue One,is currently airing week by week.
As Disney+ current shows dominate on the platform, fans are waiting for new releases like Secret Invasion, Loki season 2, X-Men ‘97, Daredevil: Born Again, Ahsoka, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, and more.
Unfortunately, Disney+ is the only place to find media made by Disney. If you can find their films elsewhere, then there is a strong chance you will have to purchase the film. At some point, you might realize it is cheaper to pay for the subscription to revisit the movies from your childhood.
If the annual plan doesn’t sound like something you can or want to do, then don’t worry. Disney+ is adding an ad-supported tier plan, which will cost $7.99 per month.
Disney+ isn’t the only streaming service to raise prices over the last few months. Netflix both lowered and raised prices by adding a Basic with Ads tier to its lineup, and Apple TV+ raised its price from $4.99 per month to $7 per month.
As prices continue to go up, we must make a choice that is best for our wallets.
Will you lock in the annual plan before Dec. 8 or are you done with your Disney+ subscription? Let us know in the comments!
