Eddie AI Introduces Smarter B-Roll Detection and New Support for Multiple Languages
A look at everything new coming to Eddie AI, the AI assistant editor for video professionals.

Eddie AI Multi-Language Support
While generative AI might still be the biggest, or at least the flashiest, type of AI technology reshaping the film and video industry, supportive AI tools like Eddie AI, the AI assistant editor for video professionals, continue to find new ways to speed up and streamline the video editing process.
Eddie AI, which we’ve covered in the past, has just announced some notable new features, including the introduction of smarter b-roll detection to help editors better isolate the best parts of their clips and other logging improvements, as well as support for multiple languages.
Let’s take a look at everything new with Eddie AI.
Eddie AI Latest Updates

As mentioned above, the big news here is the multi-language support, which is set to expand access to French, Spanish, and German. Additionally, it introduced smarter b-roll detection to isolate the best part of the clip, bigger b-roll projects (400 clips for Pros), and multicam A-roll logging.
This update follows up a string of recent improvements, including native integrations with Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Final Cut Pro; a revamped free plan offering monthly exports; and a big initiative to support 1,000 independent documentary filmmakers.
The goal of these updates is to further solidify Eddie AI as one of the best AI-powered tools to improve the lives of video editors.
The ChatGPT of Video Editing
Originally launched as the “ChatGPT of video editing,” Eddie AI continues to evolve, still retaining its basic promise and principle.
“I spoke to hundreds of video editors last year. The most advanced ones were dropping transcripts into ChatGPT and asking for soundbites and scripts — then painstakingly rebuilding those edits by hand in Premiere. There’s an inflection happening in post and we made a fun video about it.” — Shamir Allibhai, co-founder and CEO of Eddie AI.
The video above is a fun example of Eddie AI’s marketing in this space and what it aims to provide for filmmakers and editors alike.
Multi-Language Support and Other New Features

“Today’s release marks a shift for Eddie. We're evolving into a system of advanced AI models that handle increasingly complex editing tasks — across both video and audio. This is just the beginning.” — Alex Terekhov, co-founder and Chief AI Scientist.
Here’s a full review of everything new in Eddie AI.
Multi-Language Support (ChatGPT Mode)
Eddie’s “ChatGPT mode” now understands and edits in French, Spanish, and German, the most requested feature by Eddie’s global community. Editors can now ask Eddie to find themes, structure stories, and identify soundbites in non-English interviews, with more languages and full Rough Cut support coming soon.
B-Roll Logging v2: 400 Clips, Only the Best Moments
Eddie’s upgraded B-Roll Logging supports up to 400 clips per project (for Pro users) and automatically trims to the most usable moments, removing blur, focus hunting, and shaky shots. The result: cleaner timelines and faster story-building.
A-Roll Logging v2: Now with Multicam Support
Eddie’s signature Rough Cut mode — which assembles interview-driven narratives from longform footage — now supports simultaneous logging of multicam interviews, letting editors work with multiple angles without missing a beat.
