We all know how important sound is to any project. The right sound effects and score can make your images sing and feel that much more professional. It's one area we always talk about focusing on—you not only want good sound on the day, but also need to add the perfect finishing touches in post-production.

That's where a company like Epidemic Sound comes in!

Epidemic Sound is a global MusicTech company headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, that is on a mission to soundtrack the world. The company has democratized access to music for storytellers. Its innovative digital rights model paves the way for creators—everyone from YouTubers to small businesses to the world’s largest brands—to use restriction-free music to take their videos to the next level, while simultaneously supporting the musicians it works with both financially and creatively.

And guess what? They want to give you access to their sound and music libraries to help you with your sound mix. Epidemic Sound and No Film School have partnered for the  "At the End of the Tunnel" Short Film Contest.

You could win a Sony a6000 to shoot your next project, along with up to six months of free access to Epidemic Sound's amazing library of royalty-free music and sound effects to add those important final touches!

Contest guidelines

For a chance to win, all you have to do is put together a 30- to 60-second short film about coming out of quarantine, and give it a soundtrack using music and sound effects from Epidemic Sound.

The past year has been tough, but we have learned to adjust to the situation. Is the end in sight? When will it truly be back to "normal"?

The contest is titled "At the End of the Tunnel." After more than a year of difficult conditions—lockdowns, quarantines, separations—there is finally hope of a return to normalcy. There's a light at the end of the tunnel.

Who have you missed or what have you missed doing the most? How do you envision living in a post-quarantine world? What emotions do you feel? And how can sound be used to express or accentuate your vision?

We'd like you to create a short film about being "At the End of the Tunnel" and coming out of quarantine. This short should be 30 to 60 seconds long, and needs to use music and sound effects exclusively from the Epidemic Sound libraries.

The contest starts now, and your deadline is June 29, 2021, at 3:59 p.m. Pacific Time (6:59 p.m. Eastern, 23.59 BST).
