Moment is back with their 6th Invitational Film Festival, and you've got a chance to win $150,000 in prizes simply by submitting your short film by June 6, 2021. There are nine different categories to choose from, and each category winner takes home $5,000. Plus, 27 finalists will win $1,000, and the Filmmakers' Choice Award winner receives $10,000. Best of all, it's free to submit. 

How to enter

To take part, Moment and their sponsors have made it really simple.

  1. Make a film that falls into one of the nine categories: adventure, mini-doc, music video, long-form, experimental, drama narrative, comedy narrative, sci-fi narrative, or how-to. 
  2. Verify how long it should be: films must be under 3 minutes for adventure, mini-doc, experimental, sci-fi, narrative, comedy, drama. Under 5 minutes for music video, and under 15 minutes for long-form.
  3. Submit it on FilmFreeway 

The requirements

There are requirements to follow: 

  • Must only submit one film per category.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be filmed on a mobile phone or drone.
  • Must be under 3 minutes for adventure, mini-documentary, experimental, sci-fi narrative, comedy narrative, drama narrative, and how-to categories. Under 5 minutes for music video and under 15 minutes for long-form.
  • Must be shot/uploaded in 1080p or higher.
  • Must be submitted by June 6, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. PST.

To help you get started, Moment is having a two-day workshop on March 24-25 ($89) to teach you techniques from different pros. You'll learn everything from bringing your idea to life to how to frame, edit, and color your footage, plus more.
