Sennheiser Partners With Formula E
In exciting news for anyone who follows pro racing, or in this case specifically pro electric racing, Sennheiser, the global audio specialty company best known to filmmakers and content creators for its microphones and audio solutions, has announced that it is signing a multi-year partnership with Formula E.
If you aren't super familiar, Formula E is the highest-class open-wheel single-seater motorsport championship for electric cars and a growing brand in the pro racing world. Let’s look at what this partnership entails and what it could bring for the future of both brands.
Sennheiser Partners With Formula E
Launched back in 2014, Formula E is indeed a fast-growing and very entertaining part of the world of professional racing these days. This collaboration between the brands will see the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship integrate Sennheiser’s professional audio solutions and next-gen AMBEO immersive audio technology across the global series with the goal of creating new ways for fans to experience the excitement, energy and emotion of electric racing.
“Formula E represents exactly the kind of environment where meaningful innovation happens. At Sennheiser, we are driven by the ambition to bring advanced audio technologies into real-world applications, and this collaboration gives us an exciting opportunity to rethink the role sound can play in electric racing. Great visuals deserve equally compelling sound, and we see real potential to define the sport’s unique acoustic character through dynamic in-car and trackside soundscapes. Ultimately, this partnership is about learning, exploring and helping to shape the future of how live sport is experienced.” - Andreas Sennheiser, CEO of the Sennheiser Group.
The goal of the partnership seems to be not just to provide audio solutions, but to enable both brands to explore how advanced audio capture and encoding workflows can create more immersive experiences for viewers on any device.
