It’s been a busy couple of days leading up to IBC 2026, where we’ve seen a flurry of new cameras, lenses, gear, and software announcements from a wide range of major brands. Sigma is doing its part with new lenses, including the Sigma 20-60mm f/2.8-4 DG Contemporary Lens, a wide-to-normal zoom with a dynamic field of view packed into a palm-sized design.
Weighing just 13.2 oz, this full-frame optic zoom brings a bright f/2.8 maximum aperture at the wide end with some nice macro capabilities. Let’s look at what this new Sigma Contemporary zoom can do for your projects.
Sigma 20-60mm f/2.8-4 DG Contemporary Lens
Designed for filmmakers, videographers, photographers, and other hybrid content creators, the Sigma 20-60mm f/2.8-4 DG Contemporary Lens offers versatile full-frame optics in a compact form factor, making it a strong option for capturing wide landscapes, low-light interiors, or rich close-ups.
The lens will feature a dynamic 20-60mm zoom range with a wide-to-normal field of view that will allow for 6.2” close focus at 28mm and a 1:2.3 reproduction ratio at 35mm. The lens will also feature an advanced 15-element, 13-group optical construction that should deliver solid high-resolution performance and consistent edge-to-edge sharpness throughout the zoom range.
The lens should handle rapid, smooth autofocus for photo and video alike with its HLA-driven focus motor, and its solid dust- and splash-resistant construction should also allow confident shooting in unpredictable weather or settings.
