Steven Soderbergh's highly touted basketball drama, High Flying Bird, debuted on Netflix last Friday for all of the streaming platform's eager subscribers. Hailed as "amazing" by our own George Edelman, the film has been receiving glowing reviews, not the least due to its having been shot entirely on an iPhone 8. Impressive!

Last month, the film had its world premiere in front of a sold-out crowd at the 2019 Slamdance Film Festival, a screening No Film School was happily in attendance for. And now, as luck would have it, footage has been uploaded of Soderbergh's heartfelt introduction of that screening.

A nice companion piece to the film (watch it before you screen the movie in question!), below you will find Soderbergh's full introduction. To learn more about the film (and to hear about what went down in the film's post-screening Q&A), be sure to check out our coverage here
