Stranger Things debuted in 2016, and the world felt like a very different place. Over the last almost five years, we've gotten to know the kids of Hawkins and become a part of their clique as they protect the world from the monsters of the Upside Down.
Now, after all this time, Stranger Things is about to end.
Its finale airs on New Year's Eve in both theaters and on the streamer, and there's a fervor in the air to see how it all shakes out.
They just dropped the finale trailer for the season as well.

The trailer sets a somber and high-stakes tone as Jim Hopper encourages Eleven to fight "one last time."
Throughout the trailer, we get Hopper's narration, which acknowledges the immense toll the series' events have taken on Eleven and her friends, highlighting how they've been attacked and manipulated by "terrible people."
Now, it's up to them once again to stop Vecna and to set the world right-side up.
Despite these challenges, Hopper urges Eleven to "fight for the days on the other side of this" and "for a world beyond Hawkins."
We see the group facing off against new and familiar threats in what promises to be an action-packed finale.
One thing we can't be sure of is the safe return of the entire crew. It alludes to the fact that more sacrifices might have to be made, including the lives of some of our heroes.
The visuals are all epic and huge, showcasing just how far this series has come since its beginning.
I wonder what the viewing records could be when it debuts, and if Netflix can handle the world tuning in for the finale all at the same time?
It feels like the show was the first real series to cement that Netflix is here to stay, and now it's launching Netflix into the back half of the 2020s.
