Zip Around Your Sets With This Goofy (but Practical) E-Powered K.I.T. Cart
A first look at ZIPR, a new e-powered K.I.T. designed to move gear, people, and productions faster (and goofier) than ever before.

Ok, maybe it’s mean to call this thing goofy—but that’s kind of what it is. Not to say that being goofy is a bad thing. Goofy can be good. Or, you know, it can just be goofy. Either way, a company called ZILR has developed a new E-Powered K.I.T. Cart, which they are calling the ZIPR.
And, as you can see in their product demo and testimonial video below, it’s a goofy-but-possibly-fun way to zip around sets as the cart has been designed to move gear, people, and productions faster than ever before.
Let’s check it out.

In a video put out by ZILR, the ZIPR is introduced in a testimonial with a DP and director (Shaki Prasanna and Ilya Malov, respectively) sharing their real on-set experiences using a pre-release version of the ZIPR to zip across the set of a recent commercial shoot, an independent short film, and a complex one-take music video.
The testimonial video covers some of the following topics:
- How ZIPR helped track fast-moving shots in a one-take music video
- Why Shaki was always first on set
- Saving physical energy by reducing multiple trips
- Using ZIPR as a tracking vehicle, transport cart, and crew mover
- Real reactions from DP & director
Honestly, a pretty good way to take a new product through the paces for sure. The ZIPR is used to travel across warehouses, outdoor locations, long distances, and tight turnarounds, to see how it helps (or hurts) a crew’s efficiency, safety, and speed.

If you’d like to learn more about the ZIPR, the team also put out an AI Concept Challenge video (for some reason) as well as some other tutorials on the company’s YouTube page here.
