Win $100K in Prizes & Gear in Aputure's 'Light This Location' Contest

Aputure's Light This Location Film Festival open until August 24th!
Create a film made within a single location for a chance to win big prizes from Aputure.

Aputure has been making a name for itself in the production space with its low cost, high quality LED fixtures and other useful gadgets. Now the company is teaming up with Blackmagic Design, SmallHD, Quasar Science, Freefly and more to bring you a contest with some impressive prizes. All you need to do to enter is make a short film on any topic in a single location and create an accompanying one-to-two minute behind-the-scenes video, plus a floor plan outlining your lighting setups.

Categories and prizes include:

  • Grand Prize
  • Most Creative Lighting
  • Audience Award
  • Best Female Filmmaker
  • Best BTS Video
  • Most Creative Location
  • and 3 Runner-Ups

What are judges looking for?

With judges including Corridor Digital, D4Darious Britt, Mike Ashman & Luke Neumann, it's a pretty production-heavy culture, so we imagine an emphasis on professional aesthetics will go a long way towards your score. The contest site also notes that judges will be scoring films based on how well they stuck to one physical location. Having trouble finding a location? Aputure has also hooked up with location-matching service to offer discounts to contest entrants using the code LIGHTTHISLOCATION at checkout.

Who can enter?

Filmmakers from anywhere in the world can submit, even those under 18 (with permission from parents), and it doesn't cost anything except your time—so what are you waiting for?

For more info on the terms and conditions, visit the Aputure Light This Location website and enter by the August 24, 2018 deadline
