Announced earlier this summer, the Antigravity AI is a new 8K 360-degree video drone incubated by Insta360 and third parties. Its first, flagship product is now the world’s first drone equipped with 8K 360-degree capture as it aims to be an all-in-one drone option for those looking for intuitive, immersive flight.
Capable of capturing footage at 8K and using Insta360’s imaging-stitching technology, the A1 could indeed begin a new era of drone technology—an industry that has largely been dominated by DJI, which is facing its own potential ban and tariff issues.
Set to come with Vision FPV goggles, a one-handed grip Controller, and a quite tiny and easily flyable drone that weighs under 250g, this small package can pack a punch for your aerial video needs. Here’s what you need to know.
The Antigravity A1 is Here
Designed for both beginners and pro drone pilots alike, the Antigravity AI is a combo of Insta360’s algorithms and a new brand of drone technology. It’s also quite fun to use and fly around, especially for those without a lot of drone knowledge or backgrounds in high-end aerial cinematography, thanks to its intuitive controls and the unique experience of using the included Vision FPV goggles and Grip controller.
The goal of the Antigravity A1 really seems to be to make creating aerial content effortless, as users will be able to publish full 360-degree drone videos quickly and easily. Plus, by capturing every angle in 8K resolution, you won’t have to frame the perfect shot the day you fly—you’ll get the advantage of being able to pick your vantage point when editing to choose the angle you like best.
This also means that the full 360° 8K footage that you film immediately captures every view from the drone. With these capabilities, you’ll be able to create dynamic content by transitioning to and editing footage from the side, behind, above, or below the drone as you fly it around.
A Beginner-Friendly Drone Experience
For those who haven’t used many drones in the past, it can be a bit intimidating trying to fly one for the first time. However, as we’ve seen with recent DJI drones and this new Antigravity A1, the ease of use is getting better and better.
The AI offers automatic landing gear that folds out to let you place it safely on the ground as soon as you power it on and get it operational. Once you take off, the landing gear automatically folds back inside and out again right before you land.
The Antigravity AI also features a FreeMotion safety feature that automatically aligns the nose of the A1 with the flight direction, giving forward-facing sensors optimal positioning for obstacle avoidance while looking around with the Vision goggles.
Everything is controllable from the FPV goggles, which offer VR-quality immersion and feature head tracking. The external display on the outside “eyes” of the Vision goggles is actually an external display as well, letting everyone around you watch what you’re seeing as you fly.
The grip is a one-handed remote that has some nice and intuitive kinetic control options. It takes a bit to get used to, but it’s an effortless way to ascend or swing the drone from side to side. It also has several integrated buttons and a control wheel to help provide even more precise control when needed.

Overall, the Antigravity A1 is a promising new drone option that is hitting a market that was honestly feeling a bit stagnant in the wake of DJI’s US troubles.
