By bringing Flanders Scientific, specifically, into the Atomos Group, the company is focused on finding ways to work with FSI’s world-class expertise in color science and reference display technology. The goal here appears to be to use FSI’s tech in combination with Atomos’ global reach and current (and future) products, as the acquisition will help the company deliver more complete and integrated monitoring solutions for filmmakers, broadcasters, and other hybrid content creators.

The Future of Professional Reference Monitoring

Over the years, Atomos has become one of the biggest names in camera monitoring technology, with many products that already span multiple stages of production. From the Shinboi range of on-camera monitors to the Ninja family of monitor-recorders, Atomos already has quite a bit of expertise in this space. However, they could always use more, and acquiring Flanders Scientific will certainly help to that end.
